DJ Beat Records Scandinavia AS was formed in 2000 as a joint-venture
between DJ Beat Records GmbH from Switzerland and Voices Music
& Entertainment AS (Norway).
The company’s mission was to license dance repertoire for the
Scandinavian market. DJ Beat Switzerland was going to do the
A&R function while VME was going to handle the marketing &
promotion.
In beginning of 2004 DJ Beat Records Scandinavia AS became a
100 % VME owned subsidiary. From the same year the company
started to focus on TV-advertised dance compilations.
We have a very strong relationship with Aqualoop Records and
we also have successful relationship with Andorfine Records, Suprime
Music, Pulsive Media, Yawa Recordings and Alphabet City. And of
course all the labels that provide material to our compilations.
Our series Hard Dance Mania and Summer Dance Mania has become
big
hits with total sales well above 250.000 and scoring # 1 four times
in Norway and two times in Denmark.

In 2005 we scored our first top 10 hit in Norway with Baracuda
“Ass Up! EP”, which went to # 4 in the Norwegian Official Charts.
In 2007 we released Tiësto's album "Elements of Life" on exclusive
license for Norway and Denmark.
Also in 2007 we launched one of our HDM models, Ronja Rebel,
as our first worldwide exclusive artist. Her debut single "Love is
All Over Me" was produced by Christophe Chantzis & Erik
Vanspauwen. Pulsedriver and Brooklyn Bounce delivered remixes.
The single has so far been exclusively licensed out in UK/Eire
(Ministry of Sound), Spain, South Africa, Finland, GAS.
We are starting 2008 with exciting releases by Red Divaz (a girl
group from Trondheim, Norway, produced by Norwegian
production company DeepFrost), and also a Scandinavian only
album release by Rave Allstars. |
